Have you ever been in place where you have wondered if you can go on, if you can take another step ... a place where you are tired, afraid, and wondering 'just what have I gotten myself into'? I think every one does at some time in their life, or maybe I just tell myself that. At any rate, to the extent that it is true, we (or at least I) can gain some comfort in knowing that my feelings are not a surprise to God. Even one of his most trusted prophets felt this way. The prophet Elijah. After a tremendous victory and one threat from an angry queen, Elijah took off running, fearful of his life (for good reason, I should add). Elijah runs until he cannot run any more. And what does God do ... sends an angel to say, "get up and eat". God knows when we are hurting and he cares. In times of confusion, we need rest and refreshment. Time to be still and to be ministered to; time to receive and time to be fed. If you are wondering if you can go on, if you can take another step ... find a way to become refreshed; to be fed by an encouraging Word; to be fed with good food ... and then you will find, you can take another step, and another, and another.
