Be Not Far From Me
Some days it seems like the person who wrote the psalms are speaking the very thing that I cannot say myself. Today is one of those days. It is not that there is anything wrong, no things are well with me ... but there is the sense that trouble is just around the corner.
Believe me, I am not looking for trouble ... but in my spirt, in my inside I know that there is something not quite right. No one can help me ... because I do not know what kind of help I need. So my prayer today ... and for too many days in a row ... is, Lord be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help ... except You. On days like today it is good to know that Jesus has said that He would never leave us nor forsake us. Trouble may be near, but God is nearer still.
