Take a look at most magazine covers and you will soon see that being body conscious is almost an obsession in American society for women. But, while looking attractive, being physically fit, and fashionably covered are good things, it is not the only type of body consciousness I want to promote (or even think about after eating six Godiva chocolate truffles that were given to me as a gift yesterday).

Hebrews 10: 24, 25a reminds us that being body conscious for the believer means remembering that as members of the body of Christ. Being body conscious means we need to think more about what it means to be connected to others and to think more about how we can encourage everyone to use their gifts. Thinking less about yourself and more about our relationships in the Body of Christ is what being conscious is really all about.
