Waiting

Waiting

Waiting

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40: 31

Everybody that enjoys waiting, raise your hands ... I can't see you, but I am willing to bet that not too many people have raised your hands. Waiting is something that we can not escape ... be it waiting for a stop-light to change, waiting for our tax refund check to come in the mail, waiting at checkout line at a store, or just waiting for our food to finish cooking ... we are going to have to wait, sometime -- and more often than we would like.

What of the hardest times for me to wait, is while I am waiting for "clear" directions from the LORD. I will admit, I like the comforts of this instant generation I live in, I like for things to happen quickly AND I like to control the outcome, if it is at all possible. It is not that I do not trust God (okay, maybe sometime it is -- but that is for a different page), I do trust God, but it is the not knowing WHEN and HOW God is going to answer my prayers. Yes, God is an on time God, but sometimes it seems like God's watch and my watch are operating in two different time-zones. Can I get a witness!

Waiting, we all have to endure it. we may not be able to get away from it -- but we can choose how we will wait. I may not be able to adjust God's watch; but I can adjust my attitude. And adjusting our attitude from self-centered to Christ-centered, is half the battle. God promises that if we will "wait upon the Lord" our strength will be renewed; and I for one, am going to hold God to His Word ... because, right about now, I need to run without getting weary and to walk and not faint ... I've got lots of running, walking, and waiting to do today ...
