There are many types of seed that we can sow. We can, as the farmers do, sow seeds that will produce fruits and vegatables. Not many of us do this anymore. No, the seed that we are likely to sow are "words". The words we speak are seeds that have the potential to shape our future. But just because we speak out the future that we want as a seed, does not mean that we will automatically receive the harvest we are anticipating. And many times there is a dry season between the seedtime and the harvest.
How do we survive this "between time"? Well, I wish I could say that I always recognize the dry season, the winter season, the "this is taking too long season" for what it was -- just a season -- and that I moved through it quickly and enjoyed a early harvest. No. I can't say that. But What I have learned is, that just like the grapes that produce the late harvest wines, sometimes the sweetest harvest comes with a delayed harvest.
Between seedtime and harvest, is time. Good times, bad times, but mostly a growing time. Any gradening book will tell you that there is a lot of work that goes into the growing season. There are weeds to pull, fertilizer to spread, soil to arigate, plants to thin, and stems and branches to trim back. Between seedtime and harvest, there is a lot of work; but if we are willing to wait and to work, we will produce an abundant harvest.
